Serious Health problems

The first thing  to understand is the link between common or "simple" health problems like cough, cold and the serious problems like diabetes, blood pressure etc. Read our page on Common Health problems first to understand the hygienic viewpoint on this.  This page describes the cause of common health problems and the links to serious health problems.

In a nutshell, hygienists do not view diseases as independent and separate entitities afflicting different parts of the body. They take a holistic view and think that the body is either at-ease or in dis-ease (disease). The cause for disease is the accumulation of toxins in the body beyond its tolerance capacity. Toxins accumulate because of insufficient nerve energy to eliminate them. Insufficent nerve energy is caused by enervating living practices that either put an excessive demand on the body's resources or do not provide it sufficient inputs, time and rest and sleep to recoup, recover and become stronger. As a result of all this, the body falls ill.

At that time, instead of recognizing this basic fact that we are overtaxing the body in some way or not supplying its needs appropriately  and that this means we have to address this basic cause to get well, we go the opposite route. We take medicines that go after the symptoms of the disease and ignore the cause. The medicines we take make the symptoms go away, but unfortunately do not address the cause. Therefore the disease goes into "latency" and comes back again, in a more severe form. Again stronger medicines are taken and the cycle repeats itself until simple tiredness and fatigue becomes simple (acute) diseases like feverishness, then fever, then cough, cold, upset stomach. The next step is chronic disease like gastritis, ulcer, pneumonia, then asthma, arthritis, cholestrol, blood pressure and then  finally degenerative diseases heart disease, and cancer A simple disease suppressed with medicines, ignored and the cause not treated,  leads to serious diseases later.

So hygienists say that the first step to avoid serious diseases is to avoid simple diseases. If you never get a cold, cough or fever, there is little chance that you will get heart disease or lung cancer! The way to avoid simple diseases is to keep the body healthy by following healthful living practices and avoiding poison habits. This has been discussed extensively in this section. So this is the preventive approach which is far more effective, economical and healthful. Prevent the disease itself instead of figuring out how to cure it.

Now this prevention etc is all fine, but what do you do you if you have contracted a serious disease allready? Well the first step is to handle the problem by the best means available. Go to the best doctor and get yourself diagnosed and treated so there is relief of symptoms and no immediate threat to life and you get over the immediate crisis. Once you have this relief, comes the next and most important step  change your lifestyle to address the causes of this disease.

Look at your lifestyle carefully  what have you done (or not done) that has caused the disease. Look at you diet carefully  chances are that the causes are here. Over 80% of all "modern' diseases are diet related. Click here, for example, to read about the link between diet and osteoporosis. Study the Food section of this site and you will learn what you were unknowingly doing wrong either eating wrong things or not eating the right ones, or in the wrong quantities. This has to be fixed first. Avoid excesses, poison habits and give the body healthy inputs. Then look at the other aspects of healthy living  exercise, rest, sleep, pure water, sunshine, fresh air etc.. See if you are getting enough of these and not too much. Many diseases are caused by these factors. Then look at your mental habits and factors  stress, tension, lack of hobbies, outlet for your creativity, negative thinking and emotions, lack of love, spirituality, etc. These are the subtle and the most difficult causes of disease to deal with. So the causes of disease are all within  in the diet, body,  mind and soul. You will have to fix these problems  stop doing the wrong things and start doing the right ones. You can do it slowly and gradually or in one go as you like. As you do that the body will slowly recover and regain its lost health, strength and fitness. It all depends on how much damage has been done and for how long, but the body has immense reserve capacity and given half a chance it will restore health. You may not regain 100% but the body will always do its best and return you  to the best condition possible given whatever chance and resources it has.

Once you have regained your health, you will have to continue living healthfully. Going back to the old ways will simply cause the disease to return. And then there's no point. In a nutshell, the body is built with excess capacity to live flawlessly and healthfully for at least a hundred years. By abusing it, we fall prey to all kinds of diseases. By taking care of it we can restore our health and banish disease from our lives. Sickness, illness and disease is not inevitable. One can live healthily and actively for all our days and then peacefully pass away when our time is up. There is no need to fall ill  ever  if we take care of ourselves. This is the world's best kept secret.

Specific problems.

Blood Pressure, Cholestrol and Heart disease

Modern medicine has no answer to cure, heal or reverse these problems. There are only methods to manage the symptoms and keep them "under control". This is the case for all chronic and degenerative diseases. You are told that you cannot be cured and you will have to take medicine for life. Nothing can be further from the truth. You can heal yourself of these diseases, but you will have to put in the effort.

Let us first consider the causes of this disease. Heart disease is linked to high cholestrol and high blood pressure. What causes these things? High blood pressure is caused by the fact that the arteries and veins carrying the blood around the body have become narrower. Since their diameter is less, the heart has to pump more vigourously to get the blood to circulate through the narrower "pipes". So the blood pressure goes up.

Why have the arteries become narrower? Because of the deposit of "plaque" on the interior of the arteries, that lines the arteries and makes them narrower. Finally the "pipe" becomes so narrow that it is like a pinprick and the blood can barely flow. When this pinhole closes, you get a "heart attack". Then you have to go for "bypass surgery" that bypasses the blockage and then establishes an alternate path for the blood to flow. Or for angioplasty or balloon angioplasty that opens up the blockage.  But then there occurs another blockage some other place some time later. So then the game goes on.

But why does this happen in the first place. The answer is the depositing of plaque on the arterial walls. And where does this plaque come from? From Cholesterol. And where does cholestrol come from? From the diet. What part of the diet contains cholesetrol?  Animal  products!! That's true. Cholestrol in our diet comes almost exclusively from animal products! Plant products do not ANY have cholesterol, with one or two exceptions like coconut oil.  So the simplest way to avoid cholestrol is to avoid all animal products altogether or minimise their consumption. And that will be the end of heart disease. Simple or is it? That depends on you. Click here to read more about the link between diet and heart disease.

But what if you have allready have heart disease? Is there no cure? Conventionally, there is no cure. But hygienists have been saying that if you stop consumption of animal products, you are stopping the addition of cholestrol into your body and then the body can slowly deal with the excess cholestrol and eliminate it, opening up your arteries again and restoring health. This was laughed at and dismissed (except by those who tried it and found it worked). But then finally the world caught on. An American Doctor, Dr. Dean Ornish, did some studies by using a FRACTION of hygienic means  primarily diet change (drastically curtailing animal product consumption), yoga and meditation. And he found that heart disease could not only be stopped from progressing, but reversed. He wrote a best selling book "How to reverse heart disease without surgery" and slowly part of the world woke up. If you have heart disease, read the book and implement its suggestions. But the funny thing is, that those suggestions are only a small part of natural hygiene. If you adopt all of it (as described in this site), you can heal yourself of not just heart disease but any and all diseases! The methods described in Ornish's book (or on this site) do not work exclusively in cases of heart disease. They work for everything!

So heart disease can be reversed. What about Blood Pressure? Naturally, when the arteries open up, the heart needs to pump less harder and the BP normalises. In fact, even a short ten day fast on water only, UNDER COMPETENT SUPERVISON, can normalise blood pressure and help people get off blood pressure medication that they have been told that they have to take all their lives. A study has been done to prove this. But this is kept under wraps and patients are never told  one reason could be that it could put doctors, medicines and pharmaceutical companies out of business! The other reason is that most people unfortunately do not  want to put in the effort to make lifestyle changes and want an easy way out  like popping a pill.

Cholesterol levels again fall back to normal when the diet is fixed  so much for the dreaded trio!

Diabetes

Again conventionally, you have been told that this cannot be cured and you have to take insulin tablets or injections for life. The hygienic view is that this is true only if you have one kind of diabetes- actually there are 2 types of diabetes. Diabetes Type 1 is juvenile diabetes, i.e., childhood onset diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes in children. Type 1
produces too little insulin..  Here the pancreas is destroyed or non functional and does not produce enough insulin so you have to take it externally. But only 10% of all diabetics are Type 1. The other 90% are suffering from Diabetes Type 2 - is adult onset diabetes, i.e., noninsulin-dependent diabetes. This produces  near-normal levels of insulin. 90% of diabetics are Type 2.

In the late 1960's, GM Reaven and his associates at Stanford, discovered that diabetics often had more insulin present in their blood than nondiabetics. It was furthermore discovered, that a diabetic's pancreas could produce just as  much insulin and just as quickly, as that of a normal person. In one stroke,
the cherished theory that diabetes is always caused by a defective pancreas, was thus swept away. For how could a pancreas be "defective", if it could produce just as much insulin and just as quickly, as a normal pancreas, as is very often the case?

So the truth of the matter is that diabetics can recover their health, under a carefully supervised regimen of diet and exercise. And by the way, diabetics need not fear fruits. Rice or bread is in fact worse for a diabetic rather than fruit! This has to do with the glycemic index of foods. Foods with a high glycemic index release sugar rapidly into the blood stream and are harmful to diabetics. Rice and other carbohydrates fall into this category. Fruit, on the other hand has a low glycemic index and releases its sugar slowly. It is actually better for diabetics! The fibre in the fruits slows the absorption of sugar into the blood, so whole fruits are OK for diabetics, not fruit juices. Fruit juices are not good for even normal people in excess quantities anyway. For more reading on the hygienic view on diabetes, read this

Cancer

Cancer is the last stage of disease. A cell first gets irritated, then fatigued, then intoxicated, sick and finally, when the irritation does not stop, finally goes crazy. It stops accepting orders from the brain and stops sending messages back. It basically starts working on its own agenda and is no longer under control of the brain and is no longer working for the wellbeing of the body. It then begins multiplying like crazy. This is what cancer is  in a nutshell- cells gone crazy.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for cancer. It cannot be reversed, it is irreversible. Cancer can only go into remission  but it can never heal completely. Cancer can be possibly put into remission if you change your lifestyle as per the recommendations of this site  but you have to do it early enough.

Chemotherapy etc are useful in a few specific cancers  but of little use in most others. And the side effects are disastrous as you are injecting very poisonous substances into the body. Radiation therapy is similar. The quantity of life  i.e. life extension  provided by these therapies is dubious but the quality of life definitely goes down. Go for these therapies after considering them wisely.
While chemotherapy is the most prevalent form of cancer treatment offered to cancer patients today, author and consultant Ralph W. Moss, Ph.D. is a vocal critic of its use.  As detailed in his book Questioning Chemotherapy, Dr. Moss feels that chemotherapy has only proven itself to be valuable in a few types of cancer, most notably childhood leukemias and testicular cancer.  However, Dr. Moss feels that chemotherapy is largely ineffective for the vast majority of adult tumors, while at the same time being extremely toxic for the cancer patient.  In order to provide alternatives to these toxic drugs, The Moss Report service specializes in educating cancer patients about the most effective alternative treatments for their condition.  Visit  www.ralphmoss.com  for details

AIDS

This is such a complex topic that is requires a site of its own. The main points of the controversy are:
- Is there such a disease as AIDS (or is it only a conglomeration of 27 or so previously known diseases)?
- Is it really caused by the HIV virus? Where has this been proved? Apparently nowhere
- Does it really spread through unprotected sex? How come people who have had regular unprotected insertive sex with HIV infected people, remain uninfected
- How does the HIV virus behave, going against all known rules of virology? Why does it prefer males, whereas all other viruses are sex-independent?
- What is the real connection between drug abuse, homosexuality and AIDS?
- How reliable is the AIDS test?
- How come there are people who have AIDS who are HIV negative?

Lots of questions, very few clear answers. Refer www.duesberg.com for more details of the controversy. There is a nice PDF docuement you can download.

My point of view is.
= Avoid all HIV testing. The testing is actually done for the antibodies the body produces in response to the virus, not for the virus itself. All that the test proves (that too unreliably), is that the body has produced the antibodies to handle the virus. The test never tests for the presence of the virus itself. So it is not much good, except that it destroys you mentally
- Avoid all high risk behaviour  especially unprotected homosexual anal intercourse combined with poppers  a drug that homosexuals use to heighten their sensations  and avoid all intravenous drugs
- Live a healthy lifestyle.

Even if you are diagnosed as HIV positive, live a life as per hygienic recommendations. Give up all the posion habits listed above. Keep your mind free of fear. Chances are you will live a long and happy and healthy life despite all the doomsday predictions. Remember, as per hygienic theory, disease is not caused by germs or viruses. It is caused by faulty living habits. So give these up and regain health.

More damage is caused by the anti-aids drugs like AZT and Retrovir since these are HIGHLY HIGHLY TOXIC. Avoid these at all costs.
